Our world desperately needs peace. Today we share with you the regular parts of the Holy Mass. with this title, composed by a Dominican from Krakow, Father Dawid Kusz.
This composition was written especially for this year’s Extraordinary Music Workshops, organized by our Foundation in Krakow. More than 350 people gathered for this annual celebration of liturgical music in Krakow’s Holy Trinity Basilica prayed with her singing. Where did the idea for this musical form come from? – I wanted to write set pieces whose form is similar to the short forms of several bars that can be found in the “O Unfathomable Trinity” Hymnal – says the composer. – However, I used more diverse techniques that are not present in the masses found in the “Trinity”, such as imitations (including the canon – Sanctus, Agnus Dei) or the “wandering” cantus firmus (Kyrie eleison).
The name was suggested by one of the choristers from the Sancta Trinitas chamber choir, led by Father Kusz, saying that when you listen to the sounds of this Mass, they bring peace. It was this vocal group that made the recording we share with you today. We encourage you to listen and pray to this beautiful music, as well as to perform it in your parishes and communities.

Dawid Kusz – Dominican. Born in 1979 in Rzeszów. He joined the Order in 1998 and was ordained a priest in 2005. He graduated with honors from the Academy of Music in Krakow, Faculty of Creativity, Interpretation and Music Education, majoring in Artistic Education in the field of music, specializing in Leading Vocal and Vocal-Instrumental Ensembles and Teaching Musical-Theoretical Subjects. In 2014, he obtained his doctorate with distinction at the Academy of Music in Kraków in the discipline of conducting. In 2012, he began studying composition, first in the class of prof. Zbigniew Bujarski (Bachelor’s degree), and graduated in 2016 in the class of prof. Józef Rychlik. He was the conductor of the choir and orchestra during World Youth Day in Krakow (2016) and during Holy Mass. ending the 800th anniversary of the Order of Preachers under the leadership of Pope Francis in Lateran (2017). He is a lecturer in musical and theoretical subjects (as an assistant professor) at the Intercollegiate Institute of Church Music in Krakow and a member of the Archdiocesan Commission for Liturgical Music.
The Sancta Trinitas chamber choir was founded in 2016 on the initiative of Barbara Kucharska, and has been led since its inception by Father Dawid Kusza OP. It is composed of musicians associated with the Krakow Dominican community.
