On the weekend of April 8-10, at the Pilgrim House in Czerna, parallel workshops of the School of Cantors and retreats for the catechumenate were held. In total, nearly 40 people took part in them. Both groups celebrated Lauds and Vespers together and participated in Holy Masses.
On the first evening, we celebrated the solemn Gregorian Vespers and heard the catechesis on the Paschal Triduum, delivered by Michał Wsiołkowski from the Dominican Liturgical Center Foundation.
On the second day, participants of the School of Cantors in the morning took part in a polyphonic singing workshop under the direction of Anita Pyrek-Nąckiewicz. At that time, Marcin Wasilewski-Kruk’s broadcast consultations were taking place in the adjacent room. In the afternoon, there was a workshop in Gregorian singing led by Sławomir Witkowski. The subject of the classes were the chants of the Gregorian eve of the Passion Sunday, i.e. Palm Sunday, as well as mass propria for Sunday itself, according to Dominican melodies, collected and prepared by Mateusz Krakowczyk.
At the same time, adults preparing to receive the sacraments of Christian initiation, pondered the Holy Scriptures, participated in the “Catholic savoir vivre” classes and analyzed the conditions for a good confession.
In the evening, both groups celebrated the Gregorian eve of Palm Sunday, sung in Polish and Latin.
On Sunday, after the morning classes, Fr. Wojciech Sznyk presided over the Holy Mass with the blessing of palms and a solemn procession with singing Gloria laus. Luke. After the homily, our catechumen Sofia gave the Congregation a Profession of Faith. It was a very touching moment.
After the Eucharist and lunch we went home.
