Last Monday, we took part in the international scientific conference “Liturgical music yesterday, today and tomorrow – faithfulness to tradition, the need for renewal”, organized by the Pontifical University of John Paul II as part of the 16th Church Music Days in the Archdiocese of Krakow.

In the second part of the conference, entitled “The Present”, Father Dr. Dominik Jurczak from our Foundation, a lecturer at the Anselmianum and Angelicum universities in Rome, gave a lecture entitled “Liturgical cacophony? On selected problems of the liturgy”. The leader of this part was Father Dr. Dawid Kusz OP..

The conference began with the letter from the Rector of UPJPII, Fr. prof. dr hab. Robert Tyrała. Among the lecturers, you could hear prof. Guido Milanese (Milan), prof. Juana Pablo Rubio Sadia OSB (Rome, Madrid), prof. P. Jordi-A. Piqué Collado OSB (Rome), prof. Vytautas Miskinis (Vilnius), prof. Marta Kierska-Witczak (Wrocław). The afternoon end of the program was the Holy Mass. in the Sanctuary of St. John Paul II and a concert of the Zabrze Youth Choir “Resonans con tutti” conducted by Waldemar Gałązka and Arlena Różycka-Gałązka.

The conference took place on November 22, 2021 at the John Paul II Center “Do not be afraid!” under the patronage of the Pontifical Liturgical Institute, the Association of Polish Church Musicians, the Polish Section of the International Association of Gregorian Singing Studies (AISCGre) and the Sanctuary of St. John Paul II. Substantive care was provided by Sr. dr hab. Susi Ferfoglia, prof. UPJPII and prof. dr hab. Wiesław Delimat.
